Faculty Bios – Updates Coming Soon

Deborah Dahl, Kindergarten
Ms. Dahl says her life has been a testimony of God’s plans for me. He placed the desire to be a teacher in my heart when I was in second grade because of my love for my teacher, Miss Bailey. I tried to drift away and follow other vocations such as Speech Pathology and a short stint in Real Estate, my calling (education) brought me back to teaching and ultimately to serving as an education administrator. My goal has always been to teach children that they can do anything they set their hearts on, with determination and self-confidence; that they are the children of the King of the universe and with such a high calling, their job is to always carry themselves as such and never give up on any endeavor set before them. It is an honor to be one of those given the opportunity to ‘train up a child in the way they should go’. It is also a great and awesome responsibility, one in which I do not take lightly. It is also an honor and great and awesome responsibility to serve God in the capacity of His schools ambassador/administrator/team member. I am truly grateful to serve Him at South Bay Christian School, which I call home. Email: ddahl@sbja.com

She, along with her two sisters, attended SBCS throughout her elementary and junior high years, and it was at SBCS that Mrs. Sekulich decided to be a teacher. She went on to graduate from California State University at Long Beach, and subsequently earned her Master’s Degree in Education at La Sierra University. The Southern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists has used her expertise to train other teachers as they use our reading program, Pathways.
